The Quezon City Film Commission announces that Ms. Mary Liza B. Diño has made the decision to step down as Executive Director.

Over the past months, she has been working closely with the team, with the support of Mayor Joy Belmonte and the Quezon City Government and its instrumentalities, to prepare for this transition—ensuring that a proper and responsible turnover is in place as the Commission moves forward, particularly in this important phase of transformation from the Film Commission to the Screen Commission.

During her tenure, the Commission strengthened its role as a key driver of the city’s creative economy. This includes advancing policy development, expanding international partnerships, and building industry programs that support the growth of Filipino and Southeast Asian cinema.

Key initiatives under her leadership include the expansion of QCinema’s industry platform, including the QCinema Project Market and the Asian Next Wave Film Forum, as well as strategic efforts supporting Quezon City’s ongoing journey toward becoming a UNESCO Creative City of Film.

The transition toward the establishment of the Quezon City Screen Commission also marks a significant institutional milestone initiated during her leadership, laying the groundwork for a more integrated and future-ready screen industry framework for the city.

The Quezon City Film Commission expresses its gratitude for her leadership and service, and wishes her well in her future endeavors.

The Commission remains committed to continuing its mandate of supporting and developing the city’s screen industry.
